Access to other LCC labs is granted to students enrolled in specific LCC courses or graduate programs. Students without LCC Lab access are encouraged to use the computing resources at the Library West Commons.

Demo day?

At the end of both Fall and Spring Semesters, LCC presents Demo Days during which students in Computational Media: Information Design and Technology; and Digital Media present to the public the digital projects which they have created during the term. All visitors are welcome. Information on Demo Day appears on the LCC home page a month before the scheduled date.

English as a second language?

LCC does not offer special classes for ESL students. Students who need basic English-language instruction should contact Georgia Tech's Language Institute to learn about non-degree-based classes and other learning opportunities.

What are the prerequisites for LCC courses, other than ENGL1101 and 1102?

Most LCC courses will satisfy the Core Area C humanities requirement. Consult the general catalogue to learn which classes will and will not provide humanities credit.

Oxford summer abroad program?

LCC courses are usually offered as part of the Oxford Summer Program. Students may use these courses to satisfy Core Area C humanities requirements or for a STAC or CM degree

The Regents Exam

Can I place out of the Regents' Exam?

Students who received a score of 510 or higher on the SAT verbal test, or 23 or higher on the ACT test, may place out of the reading section. Students who received a score of 3 or higher on the AP English Composition or Literature and Composition test, a score of 4 or higher in the IB test, or a score of 650 or higher on the SAT II English Writing test may place out of the writing section. Students who receive an SAT verbal score of 530+ or an ACT score of 23+ and an A in ENGL 1101 will place out of the writing portion of the test. Students who receive an SAT verbal score of 590+ or an ACT score of 26+ and a B in ENGL 1101 will place out of the writing portion of the test. These students will have automatically satisfied the Regents' requirements and will not be invited to take the test.

Why have I been registered in RGTR 0198 A and/or RGTE 0199?

Students who have not satisfied the Regents' requirements by the time they have earned 45 hours of college credit will be automatically enrolled in skill development courses, RGTR 0198/RGTE 0199. They will remain enrolled in these courses until they receive a passing score on the test.

When will I take the Regents' Exam?

Students are invited to take the test after they have earned 10 hours of college credit, including AP and transfer credits. All new students who haven't already placed out will be invited to take the test in either the first or second term of attendance at Georgia Tech. You will receive an email message from the Registrar's Office as the test approaches. OSCAR will indicate precisely when and where to take the test.

Summer abroad?

LCC offers the Italian Film Studies program, which includes a period of summer study in Gorizia, Italy. Students in the IFS program take film theory, history, or production classes for a total of 6 credit hours. These hours may be applied to the STAC or CM degrees, the Core Area C humanities requirement, or the Film Studies Certificate.

Students may also pursue coursework in media studies and literature in LCC's Swedish exchange program, which allows students to study for a semester in Karlskrona, Sweden.
